Music Ministry
Grab your guitar, warm up your larynx, and join our band, "The Kidney Stones", for our musical outreaches to schools, churches, and community events.

Mission Trips
Once a week our residents, faculty and nurses load up medical equipment and head to one of our established free clinics. We share good medicine and the Good News with families living in colonias: rural, unincorporated pockets of poverty. We love bringing hope, healing, and help to our neighbors, in partnership with the Buckner Family Ministries and local evangelical churches.

Home Visits
Residents and staff travel together to make regular home visits on our patients who are unable to get to the clinic.

Doc Santa
Every December we wrap up and deliver the Gospel message, good cheer and gifts to our neediest families.

Real Love in Action
Our Christ-centered purity and abstinence program has reached hundreds of middle school students in South Texas. Faculty and resident couples have built a dynamic program that brings the Gospel and its power to young adults in public and private schools and churches of all denominations.

Nursing Home Rounds
Our second and third year residents, along with their faculty advisors, make rounds together on our patients living in nursing homes. We bring smiles, prayers and medical expertise to our aging population.

Beach Reach
Every March a team of residents and faculty hit the beach at South Padre Island to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with spring breakers.

Health Fairs
Local health fairs bring diabetes and hypertension screening and patient education to churches and businesses in our area.

Friday Night Lights
We are the team doctors for the San Benito High School Greyhounds. Every Friday night, Valley Baptist residents and staff are on the sidelines doing sports medicine.

International Opportunities
Every second-year resident is encouraged to spend one month on the foreign mission field completing a rotation in surgery, pediatrics, OB/GYN or general medicine. Every third-year resident is encouraged to spend one month on the field providing primary health care. Our residents and staff have served in Nepal, Yemen, Sumatra, Burma, China, Papua New Guinea, Ghana, and Bolivia. Our mission fund helps cover the costs for these important experiences.
